Distilled from a Rye/Barley blend and aged at least two years in a mixture of new charred oak and used red wine, port and sherry casks. Our Mountain Mash Whiskey boasts classic rye spice, oak honey and citrus. Each batch consists of three selected barrels and have their own characteristics and unique subtleties. Due to the high elevation and dryness of Telluride, the angel share loss is higher than others, but we feel it concentrates those flavors in each barrel and mellows out the intensity. The mash bill is 95% rye, 5% barley (46 ABV).

Spirits with Spirit

Thoughtfully crafted at 8700 in picturesque Telluride, CO, each of our Telluride Distilling's spirits are crafted using pure Telluride mountain water and hand-picked local ingredients when available. Our meticulous process and dedication to quality has resulted in the most awarded artisanal schnapps in the world, as well as a lineup of delicious gin, vodka, whiskey, agave spirits and more.

Mashing

Using only the finest ingredients, our mashing and mixing is done by hand using our 300 gallon mash tun.

Fermentation

Fermentation is done in our controlled environment in 550 Gallon Stainless Steel tanks.

Distillation

We use a custom built Continuous Fractioning Column, this assures consistency and quality at a level unobtainable from a pot still.

Barrel Aging

Our whiskey is barrel aged in various types of new and used charred oak barrels, creating unmatched depth and complexity.

Proofing & Dilution

Using pure Telluride Mountain Water, all products are diluted and proofed to their exact claimed alcohol percentage.

Bottling

As with all other processes, all bottling is done in house using a precise and automated bottling line then hand labeled.
